First of all it is good to be home. I am sorry it has been a few days since my last post but it has been crazy getting back into the schedule here.
It is AWANA night. The place is buzzing with kids and it is a beautiful sight. I enjoy hearing the laughter and the cheers during game time. I like to peek in and see kids quoting Bible verses. It is so exciting to know the Word of God is being taught all over the building.
Sometimes I wonder why more Christians don't see the need to be involved in serving in AWANA. I understand that not everyone is called to work with kids, but there are many who are great with kids, but the TV or a home project has more draw than a child who needs Jesus.
Even Jesus scolded His disciples for not allowing children to approach Him. They felt He was too busy or too important for children. But He wasn't. In fact He used their faith as a positive example for adult believers. If Jesus wasn't too busy for children what can our excuse be? If Jesus wasn't too important to stop and minister to some kids then we aren't that important either.
If you've never stopped by the church on Wednesday night, come on by. Listen to the noise and rejoice. It is the sound of life!!! See the kids running and jumping in church...it is a beautiful sight. Then look into the eyes of the children, eyes of souls in need of a Savior. I know you will be blessed and challenged. Only three more weeks this year, think about next year and maybe ask God if could He use you in AWANA. Because of Him, Pastor.
