Last night was the last regular night of our AWANA season. We had a wonderful time inTrek, I am not sure about the rest of the clubs. We had a strong finish with a lot of verses being completed and a nice group present.
Finishing well is so important in so many areas of life, but none quite so important as our own lives. I like what Paul said as he wrote to Timothy, "For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." That is a man who was set to end well.
I see three things here that helped him end well. First he fought the good fight. He kept the battle for Christ first. I am sure he stayed fit with the armor of Christ he described in Ephesians. He was a seasoned veteran of battle with the enemy.
Second he finished the race. He continued in his run toward the finish line of life to end well. May God grant us the endurance to do the same.
Finally he kept the faith. He stayed faithful until the end. I believe the other two are predicated on this that principle, that we stay faithful. May we set our life in such a way that we live faithfully and end faithfully. Because of Him, Pastor.
